Principles of the tests on contingency tables
Tests on contingency tables are used to calculate tables derived from a contingency table, to test the association between rows and columns, and to calculate various specific statistics.
Tests of independence between the rows and the columns of a contingency table
- Pearson's Chi-square statistic,
- the Wilks' G²,
- the approximation of the Fisher's exact test (two-tailed),
- Monte Carlo test.
Association coefficients between the rows and the columns of a contingency table
- the Phi coefficient,
- the Contingency coefficient,
- Cramer's V,
- Tschuprow's T,
- Goodman and Kruskal tau (R/C) and (C/R),
- Cohen’s kappa,
- Yule’s Q,

- Goodman and Kruskal Gamma,
- Kendall’s tau,
- Stuart’s tau,
- Somers’ D (R/C) and (C/R),
